Assignment Status Defined

What statuses can assignments be in while they move through to being published, and what do those statuses indicate?

Assignments in ClearVoice can be in many different statuses; and here is what they all indicate about the progress of the content.

As assignments move through ClearVoice, there are several different statuses they may fall under as they are being completed. Below are all of the statuses that you may see in ClearVoice, and what they mean:

Draft

Assignments in Draft status have been created, but not yet sent to a writer or the Talent Network. These assignments can be templates, or assignments that may be needing some additional detail before dispatching to a creator.

Offered

Assignments in Offered status have been sent to a writer to start work. The writer has not yet accepted the assignment, and has the option to message the customer with questions, accept, or decline the assignment.

In Casting

In Casting status means that the assignment has been sent out to a casting call of creators in the ClearVoice Talent Network. You will see the assignment as In Casting until a creator accepts it and begins work.

Inactive

Assignments marked as inactive were not accepted by a creator prior to the due date. Assignments that are inactive can be duplicated and re-dispatched to a new creator or casting call.

In Progress

If you see an assignment showing In Progress, the creator for the assignment is currently working on the piece.

Revision Requested

Assignments showing Revision Requested are currently waiting for the writer to make changes, and send the piece back for review. This means that the writer finished their initial draft, sent it to the editor, and the editor reviewed it but needed some changes made by the writer before approving.

Pending Review

Seeing an assignment with the status of Pending Review means that the writer has submitted the assignment, and it is waiting for the editor to look at it. The editor has the options to approve the assignment, or send it back to the writer for revisions. Assignments in this status can be reviewed by other users on the account with Editor or Strategist permissions, if the assigned editor is unable to review them.

Pending Final Approval

This status will only apply if your account uses Final Approval. That process adds one additional level of approval by a user on your account, before the assignment is ready to publish. Assignments with this status have been submitted by the writer, and approved by the Editor. They are waiting for the named Final Approver, set when creating an assignment, to give it one last look through.

Approved

When an assignment is approved, it means that it has been completed. The writer turned in the piece, the editor approved it, and it is ready to be published in the destination of your choosing.

* If an assignment is turned in by a Talent Network creator, but not sent back for revisions or approved, the assignment will be Auto Approved by the system.

Published

If you are using Publications in ClearVoice (learn more here) you will see this status when you select Publish on the Assignment. These assignments are out on the public web for your readers to enjoy!
